KC IMAGINE to Host Career Conference in 2025

192 students from ten area academy programs attended the first-ever digital media career conference in 2023.

This year’s KC IMAGINE conference will be a career conference offered to high school students from Kansas City digital media academy programs.  KC IMAGINE will partner with KC Digital Drive to host a conference that provides insight and information about careers in digital media.  This career conference is offered every other year to assure that students from high school academy programs can participate during either their junior or senior year.  KC IMAGINE’s last career conference, the 2023 KC Digital Media Academy Career Summit was held on November 30, 2023 at the Westport Commons Plexpod (now Park 39).  Several KC area career academy programs in digital media attended the session.  Responses from that conference were very enthusiastic.  Students were especially appreciative of the opportunity to attend breakout sessions conducted by KC area professionals from a wide range of disciplines within digital media.  Sponsorships from the Hollywood Animation Academy and The DeBruce Foundation provided funding for the event.

A date for the conference has not been set yet, but a September/October time frame is likely.  Regional schools with digital media academy programs will be notified of plans for the conference.  If your school has such a program and you want to make sure that you are invited, contact Ron Green at rronaldgreen@gmail.com to express your interest. 

Key features of the conference will include:

·      A contest for academy programs to submit solutions for the conference’s branding and visual identity solution

·      Breakout sessions with KC area professionals from disciplines such as motion graphics, branding, drone photography, audio engineering, video production, animation, portfolio creation, social media, AI, marketing and AR/VR.

·      A college career fair featuring representatives from the digital media departments of several area colleges and career program
